My story
I waited for the rain to stop
But it didn't seem like it would
I was thinking about home, that's the best place to be during a time like that
The stubborn rain still beat me where I stood under a perforated tent
I checked my time... 10:35pm... I was getting tired of waiting
I made up my mind to move, not minding if the rain will wet my suitcase though it was a risk,my boss would almost kill me if those files got wet by water
I kept on moving, tho I was bothered, the rain still pouring down hard
No cars or bikes were moving, only poor and roamy people like me were on the move for their precious homes
I was on the move till I got to a T-junction, I waited for a while, the rain was still strong, the thunder's sound was threatening, then i saw a sharp pointed motorcycle light beaming into my face
I was excited and anxious at first, hope sprang in my heart, when I found out it was my neighbor, Mr Akpan
Without saying a word to him, I climbed unto his bike and we both went off the slippery road to our precious home
Down the road, there was a blockage, we noticed a few cars parked, people crowded around it, Mr Akpan halted the bike and i dropped first, looking forward, mouth agape trying to find out what has happened
I glanced breifly at my wristwatch.. 11:05pm, I moved closer to the point of incidence
At a flash, I knew it was an accident involving two drivers, drunk drivers I guess.. The passengers of the both wretched cars were yelling, screaming and cursing eachother
They weren't even concerned about the continous rain, they kept on buzzing
I sighed and looked back to get a view of Mr Akpan, I couldn't see him,I went back to where the bike was halted
There I found the bike, but he wasn't there, I was worried, I moved closer to the scene to try if I could find him...
